Membership Policy

The March 8th, 2011 bylaws revision separated the details of membership issues from the broad policies of the bylaws. The following Memership Policy was adopted at that point. A Word document of the Membership Policy is also available for download.

VMIGP MEMBERSHIP POLICY

PURPOSE

The Vashon-Maury Island Green Party (VMIGP) Bylaws provide open membership to all who agree with our Ten Key Values and confer primary decision making authority upon members as a whole. Those bylaws leave the specific details of membership for this Membership Policy.

DUES

No dues are required to be a member of the Vashon-Maury Island Green Party of Washington State. However, members are encouraged to contribute $10 per year and/or volunteer service as they are willing and able.

Collection of membership fees for other organizations (e.g., County, State, or National Green Parties or local coalitions) may be collected and paid on a member’s behalf.

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Current members (as of the approval date of this policy) are grandfathered in with all membership benefits.

  2. Fill out and sign a VMIGP Member Application Form.

  2. Refrain from serving or seeking an elected position with another political party, including but not limited to precinct committee officer.
